Best Awd Minivans
Seeing the popularity of awd in some of these applications, the automobile companies thought of designing a family 7 passenger vehicles and more seater minivans with awd based on the same principle which is easy to handle and more importantly a reliable one.
One of the more popular family vehicles has always been a chrysler awd minivan and honda awd minivan. So, the manufacturers thought about bringing the two concepts together and started the design of a minivan based on the awd principle, which was named as the awd minivan. This is how the minivans with awd came into existence.
The sad part of the story was that the popularity of this awd family minivan did not last much because of a number of reasons. It is not that the awd minivans are completely unavailable today. In fact, the list of the awd honda or chrysler minivans that are still available is discussed below. The Toyota Sienna is the only model of minivan that is currently available in awd version. That the best awd minivan is carrying a 3.5L V6 engine. However, the fuel efficiency decreases from 19 mpg to 16 mpg on city roads whole on highways, it drops from 26 mpg to 22 mpg. In spite of all this, this is the only 4wd minivan that is currently available.
There must be some positive sides to the Toyota Sienna as well. Its handling is decent; the ride quality is great and this mini van is known to offer a spirited performance. Oldsmobile Silhouette which was launched in the year 2004 was amongst the first few mini vans that offered an optional fourth door. Although it had some issues in the earlier models with the intake manifold, later on, they were sorted out and the mini van started running very swiftly. Launched in 2005, the Chevrolet Astro was called utterly ugly. The reason for this were also justified because its length was short, it was overly boxy and was loaded with rattles and squeaks. It is a conversion van which was reduced in size by a magical wizard that General Motors had hired in the 1990s.
The Chevrolet Astro is not that suitable as a family 4wd minivan but is more suitable as work vehicle. A minivan that is known for less priced interior equipments and stylish looks came into the market in 2004 is the Chrysler Pacifica. However, it has some rust and suspension problems.
